International School Cross Country Competition

On Saturday 11th February a large group of eager runners represented our school at the inter-International Schools Cross Country Competition at Vilamoura School, where they were competing against athletes from Lisbon and the Algarve. Everyone enjoyed the beautiful weather and many families brought along a picnic. The youngest category (Benjamins) was open to runners born in 2001-2002, but we had a number of runners from Year 3, some as young as 7! And they did brilliantly!! Kiran Martin-Bright came third in the 1500 metre boys’ Infantis race, so took proud place on the podium to receive his medal. The whole boys’ team from that age group (born 1999-2000) came third overall so they were each awarded a medal. We were all very proud of the children’s performances. Everyone who took part finished the deceptively-steep course and fortunately, we had no injuries. Congratulations and well done to all our runners!!

Year 6 sponsored cycle in aid of CASA

On Tuesday 7th February Year 6 came together for an action packed day of cycling, rounders and races. We met at Quinta Lake and ambled to Faro Island. The pace was quick! We went across very difficult terrain, stretching our skills and endurance. Once at the Island, we didn’t feel tired so ran races up and down the beach and finished with a game of rounders, adults verses children! On our return journey, we went through Quinta Do Lago, practicing our road safety. We would like to say a huge thank you to; Jackie Last, Hallie Robinson, Tim Robinson, Nick Fletcher and Tim Silver for their help and support! We appreciate that our hard work that day was nothing compared to the hard times people are having living on the streets.

Under-14 Golf Champion Nathan Brader

Vilamoura Golf Club junior, Nathan Brader won the Under-14 Home Junior Championship staged at the par-72 Ribagolfe II course at Samora Correia, Benavente.
