Sports
Physical Education is highly valued at International School São Lourenço and is taught by specialist teachers throughout the school. All pupils are expected to take part in PE as part of the curriculum, up until Year Eleven. Sixth Form students are encouraged to join sports clubs and activities in the community.
International School São Lourenço has the use of a large playing field, which due to Portugal's ideal climate, can be used for most of the year. The school hall can also be used when the weather is poor (thankfully not too often!). Team games (football, basketball and hockey) are taught to boys and girls. Regular matches and cross-country running competitions are held against local and other international schools in Portugal.
Performing Arts
Drama and music are taught in all classes up to and including Year Nine. Regular presentations and productions are held in the school hall and all older pupils are encouraged to participate in some way towards larger school performances.
Any pupil can join the school band if an instrument is competently played. There is also a singing group that performs regularly with the band both in school and in the community. Grade examinations are available for those who wish to partake.
Information and Communication Technology
International School São Lourenço has on-line computer facilities, used by all age groups. Skills are built upon year by year and are taught with specialist support in the Primary School and by specialist teachers in the Middle and Senior School sections.
